Question #1:

shoplifting situation?

i got caught shoplifting at Belk in Gwinnett County Georgia earlier today. First off, i feel very guilty and take full responsibility for my wrongdoings. It was $114 worth of merchandise, one bottle of tester perfume and one eyeshadow pallet. The security guard called me over to his room and later the police came. He said i would get a letter in the mail informing me of my court date. Since I'm 16, he said i didn't have to go to jail and just have to stay in the custody of my mother. The major dilemma is this.. I have already packed all my belongings and enrolled myself to a school in New York. My flight is this Wednesday which is in 2 days. My mother would not come with me; my plans were to live with my grandparents over there. My question is, am i allowed to leave the state? Can i leave now and just come back for my court hearing, and then just see what the judge has to say? When i was talking to the police officer earlier, he said the judge could do a number of things from fine me, suspend my license, community service, or make me take prevention classes. If the judge were to say any of the above, can i do all that in New York? I honestly don"t know what to do. Should i still get on the plane and go to NY or should i re-enroll myself in a school here in GA? Did i just kill my entire future?

Question #2:

Ladies : In the perfume section of a department store, do you have to ....?

..... try EVERY tester bottle before leaving ???

Question #3:

What are some stores that...?

sell fragrances and have testers all over the place?
is there such a place?

I went to this one place and they had loads of perfumes but only a few on the counters you could actually try.
Some places like walmart keep them locked behind a glass... Its such a hassle to have to find a rep and ask...

Question #4:

Perfume...should I get the tester?

I'm getting my friend a perfume for her birthday but then a dilhemma came along and I need you help (>.<)
I have to decide between these two:

the tester (100ml)
£29.99
no cap
no special box
it might say "sample" or "tester only" on it, I dunno I'm guessing there
but could easily buy a new box
---
The original (50ml)
£32.94
has the lid
and original box
completely sealed like you would a the store
----
bear in my it's a gift... what one should I buy help! >.<

Question #5:

Was it because I was black, or maybe because I wasn't draped in Gucci?

Now I don't really pull the card but I felt like it yesterday. So, i'm at Macy's browsing through the perfume section because I needed some new perfume. So, I smell all sorts of smells (Chanel Chance, Miss Dior Cherie, Amazing Grace and Falling in Love by Philosophy are all great, btw) and I saw one Nina by Nina Ricci. I smelled the Tester and loved it because it reminded me of Light Blue so I go over to the other section and ask a woman how much did the Nina cost. She told me the price and I said thank you (I was going to go smell Miss Dior one more time before making my decision). I just happen to look back and watched her scurry around to the Nina counter (mind you, it's a hop skip and jump away) and promptly lock the test behind the glass................

OK........wtf was that?

So, I decided to go buy the same perfume from Perfumania (ended up getting it for three dollars cheaper) and walked back in to Macy's, showed her the perfume and told her that she should think next time before she goes and stereotypes potential customers. Had I been draped in Gucci from head to toe, perhaps she wouldn't have felt compelled to do this. Had I been a different skin color, perhaps not either.

What do you think? They tried to say it was standard procedure and newly implemented the last couple of weeks. I told them that had it been Xmas or some other busy holiday where hoards of people were looming about, I would understand it. Had every other tester been behind glass, I would have gotten the point. But why was the one that I asked about put back behind the glass, yet the other dozens or so more fragrances, some costing around $100 a bottle, left out?

What do you think?
Their loss anyway because now i'm just going to buy from the really sweet girl at Perfumania. I'll just have to order Chanel from Sephora.
Shelby-Nope. That bottle was one of at least twenty to thirty bottles of designer perfumes scattered about the department.
I had on a cute striped button down and wide leg Joe's Jeans so I was dressed very presentable...I think it was my skin tone lol.

Question #14:

Lipstick "testers" at stores?! Do you ever test the lisptick tester tubes at stores?

And if you do, have you discovered a way to prevent getting herpes?
I was very surprised to this at Kohls. I understand lotions and perfumes, but LIPSTICK?

Question #15:

Is it OK to give perfume as a Xmas gift which is not BNIB (Brand new in Box)?

Someone bought a load of discounted perfume from a large department store which went out of business. They were out of the box and some had the tops missing. Most were unused tester bottles.
Is it OK to give these to family for gifts?

I figure there is a reason why items on Ebay which are BNIB sell for a higher price.

Question #16:

What legal action can I take ?

So, today I was at a perfume store (Perfume Express). The sales lady, to say the very least was "convincing" so I purchased a cologne I really didn't want. 10 minutes later I tried to get a refund on the cologne, but the sales lady explained that the store doesn't allow refunds just exchanges, and if you were to exchange the product it could ONLY be once. So, on that note, I exchanged the original cologne for something that was even more expensive. I purchased a $80 cologne (keep in mind, they didn't even give me a receipt). When I looked at the bottle at home, it turns out that the bottle wasn't even the right bottle. It was a tester bottle used for in store testing, labeled "not for sale". You can imagine how mad I am. With Christmas around the corner, I wanted to get my boyfriend a nice gift and look at the mess these people have created! Im extremely upset and I want to see what are my rights and if so how I can use them against these people. If anyone is a lawyer can you please explain what I can say and do to these ignorant people. Thank you.
The thing is, it was really late and I was in quite a hurry to get home. (I live 45 min. away from the mall) I didn't notice they didn't give me a receipt. The reason I didn't LOOK at the product was because they had wrapped it fairly nice, free of charge, and I didn't want to ruin it. Also, I DONT want a lawsuit! Stop saying its not worth a lawsuit because i dont want one. I just wanna know what I can say to demand my money back or exchange the product. KEEP THIS IN MIND.

Question #17:

Malibu Perfume, by Pam Anderson...has anyone tried it yet? It shows a blue one, and a pink one.?

It apparently has been out since this past November, but I cannot find it anywhere other then online. I did order the Malibu "Night" (pink one), but was wondering if anyone has smelled a tester yet.

There isn't really any reviews on this perfume yet..so was just wondering if anyone on here has smelled it. :)

Question #18:

Why does the in-store perfume tester smell different from the actual product?

I bought a perfume a little while ago because when I sprayed the in-store tester on myself, it smelled absolutely heavenly and I couldn't stop smelling myself. So I bought the perfume and it smells absolutely disgusting and it makes me want to barf :(

Question #19:

what are the differences between perfume and perfume testers?

Question #20:
